Services & Rates

Sessions and Rates

Each session is tailored to your needs at the time. Upon your arrival, we talk for a moment about what your expectations are for the session, and anything that is useful for me to know. The hands-on time will be a combination of the various modalities of my training. Plan to be here for an additional fifteen minutes or so, to allow for getting on and off the table. Of course, your feedback is always welcome at any time, as well as requests for adjustments to anything over which I have control, i.e. pressure of my touch, music, temperature of the table, etc.

Please refrain from wearing scented products to the office.

Please tell me if you need to leave by a certain time. It's beneficial to process payment before we get started, just so it's done and not a factor to deal with in the glow of the post-massage state.

My rates are calculated to reflect my now thirty years of experience, cover my costs (including rent in this lovely space which increases every year. And don't even get me started on inflation!) and the limit on how many sessions I can do. Spreading myself too thin diminishes what I can bring to each session, we do not want that! As this is a sole proprietorship, tipping is not expected or necessary. Scheduling your next appointment and recommendation to others are the greatest gratuities!

Sessions are based on hands-on time:

       60 minutes $190;      75 minutes $205;     90 minutes $220;     120 minutes (yes, two hours!) $260

**Sliding scale available, please let me know if this will make the difference for you to receive massage!**

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits of this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance, and greater flexibility.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body, and is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. It is NOT about how deeply I can bury my fist or elbow into your tissue; in fact, although the sensation is often quite intense, some deep work can feel very light and static, but is in fact very effective. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness can occur after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

CranioSacral (SM)

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Myofascial Massage

Myofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.

Scar Reduction Massage

Scar tissue can restrict movement, entrap a nerve, spread/grow over time and encourage adhesions to bind tissues and/or organs beneath the skin Treating a scar helps restore pliability to the area, no matter how long ago the scar formed!

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese form of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body. As a result, the body's natural self-healing mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health. During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy. Reiki utilizes a gentle laying on of hands to conduct the necessary energy force between us. The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

Bodywork for the Childbearing Year®

Helps to ease the way for the many changes experienced by the gestating mama, as well as providing postpartem recovery support and comfort.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a type of bodywork that focuses on applying pressure to the specific nerve zones in your feet. Unlike other foot massages that intend to mostly relieve tension in the feet themselves, reflexology is a far more in-depth science that aims to harmonize your entire body. According to reflexology, every part of the human body is mapped into your feet. Reflexology treatments have been found to be highly effective for conditions such as allergies, headaches, and depression.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a popular way of relieving stress and releasing tension right in your home or workplace. You receive your massage in a specialized ergonomic chair which I bring to your location. In addition to the usual health benefits of massage, another benefit of chair massage is that it is done over the clothing. With seated massage, you can avoid the discomfort and awkwardness that you may feel in disrobing for a traditional massage. Also, chair massage sessions are usually shorter than traditional massage, making it convenient enough to fit into your busy schedule.
